Resizing changes how many pixels an image contains. It is useful when a large camera photo needs to fit a presentation, an online form, or a smaller product thumbnail. Enter a bounding box and the image will fit inside it without stretching its contents or cropping away its edges.
How to use this tool
- Choose the images to resize.
- Enter maximum width and height, then select an output format.
- Review the reported pixel dimensions and download individual files or a ZIP.
A bounding box is not a crop
The width and height fields describe the largest permitted rectangle. For example, a landscape photo fitted inside 800 by 800 pixels will usually become shorter than 800 pixels. That is expected: maintaining the original aspect ratio prevents faces and circles from becoming distorted.
Avoid unnecessary enlargement
Enlargement is disabled by default. A smaller original therefore stays small even when the bounding box is larger. Enable enlargement only when the destination requires bigger dimensions. Increasing pixel count does not recover detail that the camera or an earlier export failed to capture; this tool does not perform AI upscaling.
Choose pixels for the destination
A slide, avatar, and full-width photograph can need different dimensions. Check the layout where the image will appear before processing a whole batch. This tool accepts positive dimensions up to 8,000 pixels, with a separate decoded-image memory safeguard. Very long panoramas can become narrow when fitted inside a square.
Check color and transparency
The output format is independent of the chosen dimensions. Keep PNG or WebP when transparent edges are important. For JPG, select the background color that will replace transparent pixels. Re-encoding also removes EXIF metadata, so the output will not preserve the camera’s original metadata fields.
Common questions
Why does one dimension differ from the number I entered?
The image is fitted proportionally inside both limits. Only the dimension that reaches the edge of the bounding box must match your setting.
Can I resize twenty photos together?
Yes, within the combined file-size budget. Every photo uses the same bounding box, but the final dimensions depend on its own proportions.
Is a smaller file guaranteed?
No. Pixel dimensions and encoded byte size are different measurements. Use the compressor when a destination specifies a file-size limit.
